With a master’s degree in international relations, Zahra Sarwari has been deeply engaged with numerous national and international organizations in Afghanistan since 2009. Her commitment to humanitarian causes intensified in 2016 when she focused her efforts on advocating for the education of underprivileged children, child laborers, and girls who had prematurely left school.
From 2017 to 2020, Zahra served as a board member of the Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she played a pivotal role in advancing economic opportunities for women across the country.
Following the tumultuous events surrounding the fall of the Afghan government, Zahra made the difficult decision to relocate to Northern Ireland. Despite the challenges of starting anew in a different environment, she remains steadfast in her dedication to advocating for the education of Afghan girls.
Currently, Zahra is actively involved in rebuilding her professional identity while continuing her advocacy efforts remotely. Her unwavering commitment to empowering Afghan girls through education serves as a beacon of hope amidst the ongoing transitions in Afghanistan and beyond.
