The Herat earthquake in Afghanistan in 2023 caused significant loss of life and destruction. Many people lost their homes and possessions, and the Afghan government was unable to provide timely assistance. Despite some international aid, the people continued to face numerous challenges.
In support of the women victims of the Herat earthquake, members of the Equity for Afghan Girls and Women members decided to collaborate with the Seattle Radical Women’s Organization by screening the film “Kabul Girls” to raise funds for the victims. During this initiative, the film was shown, and the proceeds were sent to Afghanistan to support earthquake victims, particularly widows and women without support. With the funds collected, assistance was provided to 20 families in the city of Herat.
